I continue to be blessed and grateful to have a career in this second “oldest profession.”

2016: “Haunted House Party” at the Getty Villa, Troubador Theater Company, an absolute dream to perform in their 500-seat outdoor Roman amphitheater without any amplification!

2016 Kingsmen Shakespeare Festival: Henry V and Midsummer’s (My fourth… or is it fifth… time in Midsummer’s, each time a different role, this one rivaling the 1992 Shakespeare Santa Cruz version in terms of inventiveness and uniqueness). It also isn’t often that a fool like me gets to play a bully… but that’s exactly what happened in Henry V. The character Fluellen is both a source of amusement (the malapropisms, and Shakespeare making fun of the Welsh accent, recur in other plays) but also a veritable tough guy and bully who, when played well, actually gets the audience to sympathize with Pistol, who has spent most of the play behaving with questionable moral character. Playing Fluellen opposite Ty Mayberry’s Henry and Mark Silver’s Pistol was truly memorable. And anyone who knows the play knows that the size of a leek is vastly important.

2016 also saw continued touring with the Reduced Shakespeare Company, in both The Complete History of Comedy (abridged) and The Ultimate Christmas Show (abridged).
